It wasn’t an unfamiliar dream
The one where I am known and unalone
The woods I wake next to
Leave me blinded to the embers
In need of air
I see a spark
And I know the wings in the wind
They’re coming for me

The thrush of wind
Brought with it a tremble
A tremble so close,I cloaked myself in the sea
It wore me down
Low and lost
Eyes grazing the barren floor
But my help called out
And he made with me a flame

The sky shuddered dark
And once and for all
The charcoal I said was dust
Broke open with a blaze like gold
A fracture so faultless
Embers may not burn the brightest
But if you can face the tremble
You’ll feel them leave you warmer
