we are apse (/aps)
POETIC JEWELS DESIGNED TO HELP YOU BE HONEST IN YOUR SELF-EXPLORATION PROCESS AND HANDCRAFTED TO CONNECT YOU TO THE UNIVERSE.
An apse is an elongated semi-domed space considered to be one of the most architecturally divine and decorated spaces. Full of history and mystery, we like to think of the apse as a metaphor for ourselves; entities with immense creative energy that live in-between both the cosmic and the physical world.
We hope our jewelry encourages you to see yourself as an innately creative being and to openly celebrate your self-discovery process. Just like an apse, you are deeply connected to the universe around you, from the stars to the sea, and to be learning more about your relationship to the universe is to be learning more about yourself.
Jewelry helps us value and develop our understanding of ourselves and is a daily creative way to honor where we are at in our process and where we belong in this world.
We want you to leverage the act of putting on jewelry as one of mercy, empathy and celebration for who you are in every stage of becoming so that as you explore yourself overtime, you build a collection of jewelry that showcases your expansiveness.
The more colorfully and honest you can be with how you show up in the world, the more sacred you'll discover yourself to be. Being seen for who you are, as you are in process, can be terrifying, but we believe we are better off when we artfully share our transformation as it's happening.
apse was established in 2016 by wife and husband, Hayley Boyd and Jarod Faw.
As artists with backgrounds in sculpture and printmaking, we created apse to make honest self-expression simple so that your becoming process might be a more transparent one.
From start to finish, we individually handcraft all apse jewelry in our Pacific Northwest studio using only genuine precious metals and gemstones. We design all our pieces with a genderless twist because we believe artfully honoring your process should be an expansive, second nature activity.
