ANSWER A FEW QUESTIONS TO GET IN TOUCH & BEGIN THE PROCESS

Thank you for your inquiry!

We'll be in touch soon

OUR BESPOKE PROCESS:

Once you've filled out our form above, we will be in touch to schedule an initial consultation with Hayley, where we will chat in more detail about your project and preferences and do some initial designing together.

For in-person clients, we will reach out to schedule a time for you to visit our studio and showroom. For digital clients, we will set up a 30 min digital video call to answer any questions and start the design process.

Currently, consultations are booked 1-2 months out, depending on waitlist volume. We order our waitlist based on our client's timeline in order to best accommodate our people, and are careful to bring on new clients so there is plenty of time to complete your project before your desired date.

We are always happy to answer any and all questions - please reach out with any curiosities.

During our initial consultation, we will chat gemstone options. Once we have a general vision and sketches, we prioritize gem selection so all design decisions consider the stone.

We specialize in lab-grown diamonds and Montana sapphires (green to blue to lilac), but are giddy at the chance to source and design with emeralds, rubies and other precious stones.

We love to incorporate heirloom diamonds and precious gemstones as long as they are over 2mm. We will request that you sign a hold harmless if working with your gems.

In order to bring in gemstones to view, we will request a stone deposit of 50% of the cost of the least expensive stone we are considering. This deposit goes toward the final cost of the ring.

Once stones arrive, Hayley will be in touch to schedule a gemstone viewing or send a gemstone review digitally.

Upon gemstone(s) selection, we will take our sketches and create hyperrealistic and accurately measured and sized CAD (computer-aided design) renders or hand-carve a wax model, depending on the design and technical requirements.

At this stage, we will have a clear idea of cost, and any fine-tuning to the design is welcome. We can allot 2 adjustments to any CAD render or wax model before the bespoke design fee increases.

Once the CAD render or wax model is approved, we are ready to head in to production.

We can accept gold scrap for melt credit towards your project.

Once the final design and quote are approved, we will request a payment totaling half the cost of the ring (minus the gem deposit) in order to move into casting and begin the handcrafting process.

The production process can take between 3-6 weeks. The entire bespoke ring creation process can take anywhere from 8-20 weeks, depending on your pace.

At the time of completion, we will share your finished piece and get your final approval before requesting the final half payment. And voila! It's yours for ages and ages.

MISC

Hey, I'm Hayley.

I've been designing and making fine and custom jewelry under my brand apse for 7 years.

To me, jewelry is the art form of our most treasured things; our connection to ourselves, our people, and the natural world.

It's a sacred practice using sacred materials to make sacred things for sacred bonds.

I'd be honored to create your most intimate artifacts and heirlooms to celebrate your most transformational experiences.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

  • At this time we work in solid yellow and white gold (14k & 18K).

  • We love working with many precious and semi-precious gemstones.

During the bespoke process, we will get an idea of your stone preferences and pull gems from our list of independent gem cutters and suppliers for you to choose from.

We will always recommend gemstone types that are above a 7 on the Moh's hardness scale as any softer stones have a high risk of scratching or breaking during your lifetime. Alternative gems at 7 and above include emerald, morganite, sapphire, ruby, citrine, amethyst and aquamarine.

Some popular gems that we will not work with include opals, moonstone, turquoise, pearl, and onyx as these have a high likelihood of wear and tear or breakage.

  • We primarily source and work with lab-grown diamonds, however, we do have a mine-to-market Canadian natural diamond supplier that we love to source mined diamonds from.

Our lab-grown diamonds are created by mimicking (on a much smaller scale) the same ecological processes that are responsible for the creation of our planet's diamond supply that was created billions of years ago. They are indistinguishable from natural/mined diamonds, but are not valued the same (they are a more attainable investment!).

  • Absolutely, though there are a couple things to note.

We can not pull or set stones smaller than 2mm, as these are too commonly lost during the setting process (their lightness really makes them jump away at the speed of light). We would just hate to have one disappear.

All heirloom gemstones that are to be set will require the signing of a hold harmless agreement.

We can recycle your gold and offer you gold melt credit towards your project. We are unable to use your gold in your ring as post-consumer unrefined gold creates technical complications and impurities.

  • Our bespoke engagement rings can range from $3000 - $20,000 depending on a myriad of details. Bespoke wedding bands typically start at $1500.

Throughout the bespoke process, we do all we can to stay as transparent as possible when it comes to cost. You can expect around $1500 - $2500 general bespoke service charge for any bespoke ring project.

  • We more than welcome customizations on our current in-house designs.

Want a different stone cut or to use an alternative gemstone? Want to add a couple gems, or take some away? Want to change a width or metal finish? You name it.

Customizations of our in-house designs can run anywhere between $300-$1000 depending on what you are looking for. Feel free to get in touch below and we can answer any questions or give you a better idea of what's possible.

  • This mostly will depend on the design process (ie, revisions needed, etc), but we usually recommend getting in touch at least 3 months before you are hoping to have your ring in hand.

On average, our customized rings take anywhere between 4-12 weeks to fully bring to life, whereas fully bespoke rings take between 8-20 weeks. Production on all of our rings take between 3-5 weeks.

  • Once you are confident in a concept and we have refined, detailed sketches, we then head into a 3D render stage.

We understand that adding a dimension to previously considered sketches can change things. We allot for 2 revisions at this stage, and any needed revisions or redesigns (post the 2 already allotted) will add $250 to the total design charge.

The experience working with Hayley was best in class. She really wanted to get to know my partner and their style - she goes above and beyond and makes you feel like more than just a customer. They're truly setting trends and not just following the rest.

- Carlos

My fiancé and I absolutely loved working with Hayley. Cannot recommend apse enough! I really appreciated their attention to detail, openness about pricing, and how they made the process fun, easy and not stressful at all.

- Sydney

I am so happy that I chose apse for the engagement ring for my partner. Hayley was so creative and patient during the design process using heirloom diamonds with changes in the later stages. The ring is unique, absolutely stunning, and we both think its perfect.
